Alongside the Mate 9 launch a few weeks back, Huawei also announced the Mate 9 Porsche Design model. The presentation in Munich was heavily skewed towards the Porsche branded unit, despite the fact that it is a limited edition part to be sold at 1300 Euro, nearly twice as much as the Mate 9. Aside from a few things such as the camera and the internal SoC,
Huawei has announced Nougat update plans for its smartphones. The Android 7 update for Huawei devices will arrive in the form of version 5.0 of the Chinese company’s EMUI skin. The roll-out will begin sometime in Q1, 2017, with the Huawei Mate 8 and P9 getting the update first, followed by the P9 Plus, P9 lite, nova, and nova Plus. The new EMUI 5.0, Huawei claims, is more efficient, secure, and user friendly.
A lot has been written about the upcoming Huawei Mate 9 but the company may have something up its sleeve (literally). An e-paper based smartwatch has leaked with a circular display with marginally smaller bezels than the Pebble Time Round (which was not upgraded in the last round of Pebbles). Looking back at an teaser image from early last month, this seems to be the Huawei Honor S1 smartwatch (note the notches on the bezel).
The Huawei Mate 9 launch event is coming up (its this Thursday and more details are becoming available through unofficial means. An official-looking press image shows the expansive 5.9 screen, but its flat (theres talk of a premium curved-screen model). The flat screen should have 1080p resolution (and the premium model is said to go up to QHD).
A promo image of the upcoming Huawei Mate 9 has leaked confirming a Kirin 960 chipset and dual 20MP cameras. So far we’ve seen Huawei Mate 9 renders alongside leaked specs, which are in line with the latest rumors surrounding the phone. The dual 20MP cameras at the back will be certified by Leica, akin to the Huawei P9. The Mate 9 will launch at the end of 2016 running Android 7.0 Nougat garnished
Pushing the boundaries of what still passes for a phone, the Honor V8 Max has been certified by the Chinese regulator TENAA. This 6.6-inch phablet will compete with the likes of Xiaomi Mi Max, Lenovo Phab2 Pro/Plus, and Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra for the hearts of those who type, browse and watch more than they talk. The Honor V8 Max features a 6.6-inch QuadHD AMOLED display – apparently Huawei’s reluctance to go beyond 1080p had to be
Today Huawei announced a new member to the Honor 5 series, the Honor 5A, which brings a number of upgrades to the Honor 4A it replaces. The 5A comes with either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC, which includes a 64-bit octa-core CPU based on ARM’s Cortex-A53 cores and Adreno 405 GPU built on the 28nm LP node, for the model specific to China Netcom, or a HiSilicon Kirin 620 SoC, which
Huawei’s latest flagship – the P9 – comes with a 5.2″ IPS 1080p display and is powered by a newer Kirin 955 chip with an octa-core processor, efficient Mali-T880 MP4 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It has a sealed 3,000 mAh battery. The supplied charger is a regular 5V/2A, but that’s still enough to fill about 35% of the battery in half an hour. The phone runs on Android Marshmallow with the latest Emotion 4.1 launcher. Huawei
Hot on the heels of the newly launched Huawei P9, its bigger brother the Huawei P9 Plus offers up the same dual-camera smarts with a larger screen, more storage and better sound. As with its smaller brother, the Huawei P9 Plus sports a rather familiar design with its rounded corners, metal body, visible antenna bands and slender build reminiscent of the iPhone. While the similarities
Today in London, Huawei has launched the latest devices in its P-series line. The P9 and P9 Plus take cues from the previous P8 but also some hardware moves over from the Mate 8 in the form of the SoC base design. The two models come in various memory and storage variants to the EU and Asia, though some colors and high-end storage configurations will be Asia only. The new P9 and P9
The Huawei Honor 5C has passed TENAA certification, but the Chinese regulator has since removed the phone’s page from its website. Nevertheless, we have the confirmed details and the Honor 5C looks like a nice addition to the company’s mid-range line-up. The Honor 5C is built around a 5.2″ 1080p display and has an aluminum body with 2,900 mAh non-removable battery . At the back, there’s a fingerprint sensor while
Late last year Huawei introduced the Honor 5X, a phone branded and sold under their Honor sub brand for their home Chinese market. A few months later, the company announced that it would be the first Honor branded smartphone to launch in the United States, and we were first given access to the phone during Honor’s launch event in Las Vegas. With the Honor 5X the company is hoping

The Huawei Honor Holly would easily win a prize in a tongue-twister competition, but its alliterative name aside, this phone is the Chinese company’s attempt to enter the highly contested budget smartphone segment. The Honor Holly is packed to the gills with impressive hardware, but it takes on heavyweights such as the Motorola Moto E, Xiaomi Redmi 1S and Asus Zenfone
According to a report in Android Police, the upcoming Nexus 6P phablet by Huawei is going to feature up to 128GB of built-in memory. For comparison, the currently available Motorola Nexus 6 has variants with 32GB of 64GB of non-expandable memory. In addition to the 128GB version, Huawei Nexus 6P will also be available with 32GB and 64GB of memory, with each tier separated by $50-100. Googles next flagship phablet is not expected to

The new smartphone is exclusive to Flipkart, just like the Honor 6, and will be available from Thursday, October 16. “The Huawei Honor series has been very well received by our customers since its launch last month. Now we are adding two more
A quick skip down the spec sheet of the newly announced Huawei G8 and it’s not immediately obvious how it differs from the equally new Huawei Mate S. Launched subltely alongside the Mate S, the G8 only got the briefest of mentions at Huawei’s IFA 2015 press conference – there was, after all, a fashion show it needed to start. Seriously. The catwalk got more time at the show than the G8. Questionable presentation
Introduction Not so long ago, the fact that the Huawei Ascend G620S could be picked up for about £125/$150/AU$200 was a major point in its favour. It’s still a definite plus, but with the number of low-cost yet impressive handsets now on the market, I can’t be won over on price alone. So what else does it have? Well, 4G for one, coupled with a fairly large 5.0-inch screen, but with stiff competition from the likes of the Moto G (2014),
